Part‑Time Instructor Pool – Early Childhood EducationJob Number: 12-2021-PP28Location: Santa Barbara, CAJob Type: PT Credit FacultyClosing: ContinuousSalary: $82.33 – $115.20 hourlyResponsibilitiesProvide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Primary duties of part‑time faculty include curriculum and teaching, with assignments divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Part‑time instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class.QualificationsMinimum qualifications as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators handbook.Master's in child development, early childhood education, human development, home economics/family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development/early childhood education or educational psychology with a specialization in child development/early childhood education.OR Bachelor's in any of the above and a Master's in social work, educational supervision, elementary education, special education, psychology, bilingual/bicultural education, life management/home economics, family life studies or family and consumer studies.OR possess a combination of education and experience that is at least equivalent to all of the above.Candidates applying on the basis of equivalency must submit an Application for Equivalency and evidence of sensitivity and understanding of diverse student backgrounds. Degree titles must exactly match the minimum qualifications; otherwise, submit an equivalency review with supporting documents.Compensation and SalaryStarting credit part‑time faculty rate from salary table 11: $102.90 per hour for lecture and $82.33 per hour for lab. If you have a doctorate, the rate is $107.87 per hour for lecture and $86.30 per hour for lab.Selection ProcedureApplicants are reviewed by the selection committee, who will recommend candidates for personal interviews. A teaching demonstration is required for selected applicants.
