Salary Range
$68,000.00 - $145,250.00

Overview

Participate in the ReCAP borrowing implementation project by contributing expertise in systems, workflows, and policies. Provide technical expertise on Yale Library's ILLiad system (interlibrary loan software) and its connections to ReCAP (a shared library storage facility), including: Collaborate on updates to testing infrastructure; Partner on development of add-ons and workflows to manage ReCAP requests within ILLiad; Provide requirements for modification of Harvard's ILLiad-ReCAP integration (to be modified for Yale's needs); Streamline automated user management processes across all connected systems.

Develop acceptance criteria for all supported ReCAP-related workflows; assist with hands-on QA, integration, and acceptance tests.

Lead assigned working group(s) and facilitate meetings with varying frequency; collaborate with project leadership team; participate in ad hoc project-related meetings and working groups.

Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for participating working groups; track and follow up on action items; manage Teams communications and calendaring; provide support to other groups as needed.

Develop ReCAP-related workflows in consultation with Operations and Access Services Management; assess potential impacts on existing workflows.

Lead working group in creating documentation both for the project and future operations. This includes documenting project progress and creating presentations, decision documents, workflow documentation. Additionally, lead in the development of staff training materials, and end user documentation (e.g., Ask Yale Library FAQs, ILLiad User Group Documentation); assist project leadership with the above more generally as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities

1. Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school is required; minimum of two years of professional experience.

2. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communications skills. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service. Demonstrated ability to assess and articulate needs and make recommendations for improvement.

3. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines, and to conceptualize new solutions to problems with creativity and flexibility. Demonstrated experience working with library systems and/or vendors to develop and enhance library services. Strong interest in emerging technologies and service trends.

4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and form and develop collaborative relationships and services with others.

5. Experience working with resource sharing software, standards, and services such as Alma, ILLiad, ReShare, RAPID, sipx, NCIP, or OCLC.

Principal Responsibilities

Required Education and Experience

Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited Library school and eight years of related experience. In selected instances, a post-graduate degree in a related discipline may be required or substituted for an MLS.
