Associate Cafeteria - Attendant

Description:

Responsible for the efficient and proper set-up of the staff cafeteria. Perform set-up and break-down of the cafeteria room in a manner that ensures neatness and accuracy.

Maintaining the area clean and organized during the shift ensuing the cafeteria equipment is working properly

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

  1. Able to work on your feet during the 8 hr shift.
  2. Ability to communicate at a basic level in the English Language.
  3. Ability to follow directions.
  4. Ability to work cohesively with other associates and departments as part of a team.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
  7. Ability to focus attention to details.
  8. Valid CA Food Handlers Card
  9. Experience working without direct supervision.
  10. Basic understanding of chemical usage.
  11. Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  12. Positive, friendly demeanor.

Desirable:
  1. Bilingual English/Spanish.
  2. Previous experience in a kitchen or sanitation related position.
  3. Previous experience with guest or customer relations.
  4. Intermediate or advanced understanding of chemical usage.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the associate occupying this position. Associates will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor.

  1. Set-up and breakdown cafeteria room
  2. Assist to organize and put away cafeteria requisitions
  3. Maintain a neat, clean and organized work environment.
  4. Provide friendly and professional service.
  5. Clean up and set up food service equipment; e.i soft serve ice cream, coffee dispenser, soda machine
  6. Maintain small ware clean and stock during the shift; silverware, trays, plates, bowls
  7. Take trash out keeping area clean
  8. Pushing carts with soiled small ware to designated dishwashing stations
  9. Assist dishwashing station with cleaning of cafeteria equipment
  10. Operate the dishwashing machine including turning on and off, de-liming, changing water and adding chemicals when necessary
  11. Mop and sweep as needed during the shift and at the end
  12. Assist on the food line to avoid backups and expedite meal breaks
