What You Will Do

As a Manager, EH&S Generalist on the Goleta EHS Team, you'll bring a track record of success in continuous improvement and experience implementing and coordinating EH&S programs. Your ability to prioritize and provide timely support for multiple customers, requests and projects will enable you to influence internal and external groups, including engineers, factory line employees and management. In this role, you'll assist in the development and implementation of EHS initiatives, projects and programs that support the global EH&S organization, including electrical safety, explosives safety, non-ionizing/ionizing radiation, laser safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), cranes/hoists, fall protection, machine guarding, job hazard analysis, powered industrial vehicles, hazardous materials emergency response, industrial hygiene and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a technical resource to Raytheon employees within and outside the EH&S organization; interpreting and applying OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, IFC, IBC and other applicable regulations and standards.
  • Applying continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Supporting in-depth analysis of the business for EH&S improvement opportunities and developing/implementing programs to reduce risk and maintain compliance.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and audits for compliance with EH&S programs.
  • Analyzing leading and lagging safety performance indicators to drive corrective actions.
  • Conducting injury investigations and root cause analysis, developing corrective actions and tracking to completion.
  • Leading projects to promote the health and safety of Raytheon employees and contractors.

Travel: 10% domestic travel required to support audits and business-level initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • University Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Experience providing EHS training to internal and/or external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with OSHA and/or EPA standards in a military or civilian environment.

Preferred

  • Experience writing and presenting reports, business correspondence and procedural documents.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Industrial Hygienist (IH) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects and programs in a fast-paced environment; expertise in prioritization and implementation.
  • Good understanding of databases and information-gathering systems.

Salary Range: $112,000 – $224,000 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs depending on level and collective‑bargaining agreements.
