Lab Assistant

As a Lab Assistant, you will play a vital role in coordinating patient care and ensuring smooth workflow within the laboratory environment. Your primary responsibilities will include performing phlebotomy, processing specimens for external laboratory testing, and recording test results in the Electronic Health Record system.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care and manage workflow within the laboratory.
  • Perform phlebotomy and process specimens to be sent to outside laboratories.
  • Review and process orders from the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for laboratory testing.
  • Record in-house test results in the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Inventory and order laboratory supplies, and review laboratory invoices for accounts payable.
  • Clean and restock laboratory equipment and supplies.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen processing.
  • Experience with laboratory and sample collection.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with EMR and patient information systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Must have a valid CA CPT license.
Work Environment

This position requires working onsite at the clinic. The work environment is part of a large medical group within Santa Barbara, offering opportunities for internal growth and a top-notch training program.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Barbara, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
