Position Summary

The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day company operations, ensuring efficiency, financial stability, and regulatory compliance. This role serves as a key business partner to the Owner/CEO, with responsibility for driving strategic initiatives and implementing continuous improvement processes.

The General Manager will provide strategic leadership across core business functions, establish and monitor goals, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and foster a culture of accountability and effective cross-departmental collaboration.

For the successful candidate, this role offers a clear career growth path with the opportunity to advance to the position of Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing daily operations, fleet, and warehouse performance;
  • Ensuring on-time deliveries and maximize utilization;
  • Managing budgets, costs, and financial performance;
  • Negotiating contracts and drive revenue growth;
  • Partnering with CEO on strategy and expansion initiatives;
  • Leading process improvements and efficiency projects;
  • Ensuring compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA regulations;
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing managers and teams;
  • Maintaining strong customer and partner relationships;
  • Resolving issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of management experience (preferably in trucking, logistics, or transportation);
  • Proven track record of leading large, diverse teams;
  • Strong background in budgeting, cost analysis, and KPI management;
  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.

Not necessary but will be a plus

  • Knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA regulations
  • Master's degree in Business, Management, or related field preferred.
