We offer learners the opportunity to spend a few weeks up to a year in Santa Barbara to improve their English languageskills.About the roleIn this role, you will have responsibility for the smooth running of the residence and ensure a high level of customer service, student satisfaction, safety and observance of community standards. Please note that the role is on a rotation basis which will include working weekday evenings & weekends.Your key tasks will consist of, but not be limited to:* Checking and making sure that rooms are ready, clean and available for arriving students* Meeting and greeting new students on arrival and providing residence code of conduct* Student check in and showing students to their rooms* Host welcome meet and greet, review ppt and provide all informing to arriving students including commitment to community standards* Nightly Curfew checks for all under 18-year-old students* Weekly room checks to ensure accommodation meets high standards of quality, cleanliness, comfort and all are respecting each occupants right to personal space and order* Assisting students with problems - report any concerns to housing /residence manager* Dealing emergency situations should they arise* Ensuring that residence rules are being adhered to and report all issues to Housing Manager* Reporting maintenance issues to DOSS/School Director* Liaising with Housing Staff/Manager, organizing and partaking/running activities in residence* Manage student departure and check out: check room, ensure student removes all personal items and disposes of trash and anything unwanted reminding students of leaving date/time & procedures* Coordinating with cleaners for bed stripping, cleaning departure room, washing linen and providing fresh linen pack for arriving student* Residence on-call duty - 24 hour response with the EF emergency phone* Other duties assigned by Housing Manager/ School Management TeamRequirements* Organized with a high level of attention to detail.* Capable of using your own initiative.* Have the right to live and work in the country of employment.* Complete fluency in English.* Attend a training weekend before your contract commencing.* Organized with a high level of attention to detail.* Must be over the age of 21+* Obtain a Bachelors Degree (Preferred)Employment: From Dec 23, 2024Earnings: $18/ hour; twin room accommodationAbout EF Education FirstAt EF we believe that the world is better when people try to understand one another.
