TalentCraft is partnering with a US-based technology company who serves the global laboratory research market who are currently looking to add an Animal Care Technician to their growing team in the San Diego, CA area. Please see below for additional information:
Responsibilities:
- The Animal Care Technician will oversee the well-being of animals involved in research and development endeavors, with primary duties encompassing:
- Performing routine room inspections to evaluate animal health and cage conditions, along with meticulous documentation and record-keeping.
- Conducting and documenting clinical observations according to established standards.
- Providing basic animal care, including receiving animals and maintaining cages.
- Ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in work areas.
- Safely handling and restraining rodents.
- Proficiency in various techniques to support in vivo studies, such as oral gavage, injections, blood collection, and necropsy.
- Carrying out rodent euthanasia and proper disposal of animal remains.
- Utilizing available resources and systems effectively, including standard operating procedures and computer applications.
- Executing procedures in compliance with protocols, regulations, and laboratory standards.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED, coupled with 1-3+ years of relevant experience in laboratory animal care and technical skills as specified, is required.
-Prior experience with IP (Intraperitoneal) and SQ (Subcutaneous) injections.
-Prior experience with mouse IV tail injections.
-Prior experience with isoflurane anesthesia.
