JOB SUMMARY:
The Public Areas staff cleans and maintains all corridors, vending areas, elevators and landings and service areas on guest room floors, ensuring hotel's standards of cleanliness. He/she will provide linen supplies for Room Attendants and stock floor closets. He/she delivers and retrieves items requested by guests and Floor Supervisor.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
Thoroughly dust all furniture, pictures, and shelves, extending arms over head, bending and stooping as needed.
Thoroughly clean and polish all metal surfaces
Sweep, mop and vacuum hotel
Clean ashtrays and empty trash.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Deliver guest requests quickly and efficiently
Assist the Front Desk with all guest requests including special requests
Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Maintains hotel grounds/curb appeal in accordance with hotel standards
Maintains the parking lot/ramp including all pavement, lighting, stairs, elevators landings
Assists the guestroom team-members as needed such as stocking room attendant carts, replenishing storage rooms with supplies, picking up trash from parking lot and grass areas
Respond to guest requests such as delivering supplies and inquiries immediately.
Possess a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
Requires ability to perform housekeeping chores (cleaning units or assisting in the laundry) which involve lifting, bending, and stretching
Ability to work as part of a dynamic team to consistently deliver a quality product
Knowledge of and ability to use Resilient Floor cleaning/polishing and carpet shampoo equipment etc.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
Basic English language
Ability to recognize chemical products and their designated use and comprehend information associated with cleaning products.
Able to handle objects, reach with arms and hands, push carts weighing 100-150 lbs., and lift 50-70 lbs.
